Join our six week hand building pottery course to learn slab, coil, and pinch techniques. Create unique pieces in a relaxed atmosphere that promotes creativity and camaraderie. With hands-on guidance from Leanne Doble an experienced instructor, you'll manipulate clay and express your artistic vision, fostering a sense of community. Perfect for beginners and those looking to revisit their pottery passion.

The pottery sessions will take place at the Jericho Pottery Studio in Drysdale. Tools and materials and firing will be provided in the cost, allowing attendees to focus on creativity and self-expression, allowing attendees to focus on creativity and self-expression.

February 5th 6:30-8:30 pm - Pinch pot method.

February 12th 6:30-8:30 pm - Coil method.

February 19th 6:30-8:30 pm - Slab Method method.

February 26th 6:30-8:30 pm - explore your favourite technique

-March 5th- explore your favourite technique

March 12th -No Classes (time to dry and fire clay)

March 19th 6:30-8:30 pm- Glaze night!

THINGS TO KNOW!

  • Age Requirement: Open to adults and teens (14+). Participants under 18 must attend with a paying parent/guardian.

  • Class Minimum: A minimum of 4 participants is required. If the class doesn’t reach capacity, we’ll contact you with alternative options or issue a refund.

  • Firing Allowance: Up to 2kg of work per student is included. Additional pieces can be fired at $10 per kilo.

  • Pickup: Finished pieces will be ready for collection 4-6 weeks after the course ends.

What to Bring

  • Clothing: Comfortable attire that can get messy; an apron or towel is recommended. Closed-toe shoes are required. The space is industrial, so dress accordingly for the season.

  • Nails: Shorter nails are advised for easier handling of clay.

A Few Notes

  • Attendance: Missed sessions cannot be refunded or rescheduled.

  • Punctuality: Sessions include setup and cleanup—arriving late means missing part of the class. Please notify us if you’re delayed.

  • Photography: We may take photos for promotional purposes. Let us know if you prefer not to be photographed.

  • Most of all—enjoy the experience!
