Designed for Teenagers (Year Seven onwards) this fun six week hand building pottery course will cover slab, coil, and pinch techniques. Create unique pieces in a relaxed atmosphere that promotes creativity and camaraderie. With hands-on guidance from Leanne Doble an experienced instructor, you'll manipulate clay and express your artistic vision, fostering a sense of community. Perfect for teens interested in exploring this art medium and developing a skill for VCE endeavours in their future.

The pottery sessions will take place at the Jericho Pottery Studio in Drysdale. Tools and materials and firing will be provided in the cost, allowing attendees to focus on creativity and self-expression, allowing attendees to focus on creativity and self-expression.

February 5th 4:30-6:00 pm - Pinch pot method.

February12th 4:30-6:00 pm - Coil method.

March 19th -No Classes (time to dry and fire clay)

The Details

• Class Requirements: This course is for high school students- aged 12-18years. Parents must sign in students and pick up from studio unless discussed prior.

• Class Minimum: A minimum of 6 students is needed for the course to go ahead. We’ll contact you if the class doesn’t meet numbers.

• Firing: Your term includes firing for up to 2kg of work. Any additional pieces will be $10 per kilo, payable at the end of the term.

• Collection: Finished pieces will be ready for pickup 4-6 weeks after the term ends.

What to Bring

• Clothing: Wear something you don’t mind getting messy. Bring an apron or a towel for your lap and wear closed-toe shoes.

• Nails: Long nails can make working with clay tricky (and might damage your work), so shorter nails are recommended.

• Weather: Dress for the season—our studio is in an industrial space so comfort is key!

A Few Friendly Reminders

• Choose Dates Carefully: Unfortunately, we can’t offer refunds or make-up classes for missed sessions.

• Be On Time: Classes are 1.5 hours, including cleanup time, so arriving late means missing out on that portion of the session. If you're running late or early, just let us know!

• Photos: We occasionally take photos during workshops for our website and social media. If you’d prefer not to be photographed, let us know before the session starts.

• Have Fun: Most importantly, enjoy yourself and tell your friends!
