About the Course

Join us for a hands-on, 6-week pottery wheel course designed for both beginners and those looking to refine their skills. This course focuses on learning at your own pace, experimenting with new techniques, and embracing the creative process—without the pressure of perfection.

Each session introduces a new skill, building upon the previous lessons to develop confidence and technique on the wheel. Our small class size ensures you receive individual guidance in a welcoming and relaxed environment.

Course Outline

Week 1 (April 3rd): Introduction to the pottery wheel—wedging, centering, and basic throwing techniques.
Week 2 (April 10th): Refining cylinders—improving control and consistency.
Week 3 (April 17th): Transforming cylinders into cups and tumblers.
Week 4 (April 24th): Adding finishing touches—handles, trimming, and refining shapes.
Week 5 (May 1st): Exploring decorative techniques like carving and surface design.
Week 6 (May 8th): No class this week—pieces will be bisque-fired.
Week 7 (March 15th): Glazing session—apply finishes to your work before the final firing.

Returning students can work on more advanced forms such as plates, bowls, or lidded vessels.
